Team Perosh Mixed Martial Arts had 4 students compete at the WAKO Light Kick competition on 24th July. It’s a novice Kickboxing competition where students learn how to compete in Kickboxing matches. The team had a 50/50 win/loss record but the main thing is learning and experience. Thank you to the coaches Joey, Julian, Cooba & Rory for helping them out and for everyone who came to support. These events will every 6-8 weeks. Let us know if you want to compete at the next WAKO.

Team Perosh MMA fighter Nelson Mayan lost his MMA match last Friday at Rogue 3 in Melbourne. Nelson had an unfortunate and unlucky accident breaking his leg in the first round following a kick he did.

He had surgery the following day got back home today. Now it is time to rest and rehabilitate. I am sure that with Nelson’s will and motivation and support from his family, friends and team mates he will be back better than ever.

Team Perosh Mixed Martial Arts Five Dock student Michael De Marco competed in the 2022 ADCC Oceania and Asian World Trials last weekend in the 66kg division. The winner received an entry to the World Championships in September in Las Vegas. Michael won 3 matches and lost his 4th match in the quarter final. He put in a great performance.

I also cornered my Wrestling coach from my UFC days Denis Roberts who competed in the 99+kg division. He won 2 matches and finished 4th place.

Well done to both competitors in the ADCC trials!
