NSW BJJ Summer Cup Sydney results November 2017

An amazing performance by the Team Perosh MMA Academy at the recent NSW BJJ Summer Cup held in Sydney on 26th November. Our team of 16 kids and 20 adults won a combined 11 gold, 17 silver and 7 bronze medals.

Frances Bavaro (Double), Rebecca Beuk (Double), Mason Elias (Double), Damian Iacono, Amelia Roufas, Sam Cassaniti and Jake Lapi won gold. Sam Senan (Double), John Kim (Triple), Matthew Thomspon, Mike La Fleur, Lewis Massih, Bridget Massih, Keegan La Fleur, Jayda La Fleur, Natasha Iacono, Emma Hunt, Aryan Singh, Anthony Roufas, Axyl Howie and Campbell Lahoud won Silver. Aron Walsh, Aston Chee, Natasha Skvorc, Andrew Huynh, Dominic Lees, Jeremiah Diestro and Julian Tsitos won bronze.

We also had 8 students compete for the very first time!

On top of that our academy is part of Team Will-Machado and Team Will-Machado came second in the teams divisions for adults gi, adults nogi and kids.

Well done to everyone that competed and everyone that came to support!

I visited Advance Martial Arts,  Mackay MMA, Riverina BJJ, Kemps MMA and Extreme Martial Fitness in November.

I caught up with my coaches Mike Winkeljohn and Chad Smith from JacksonWink MMA and met some new friends Marcin Tybura, Kamil “Profesor” Umiński and their team. Hanging out after the fights at Cockle Bay in the city after the UFC Fight Night held in Sydney yesterday.

West Region Fight Night MMA results November 2017

Big congrats to Team Perosh Mixed Martial Arts fighter Joey Belfiore on his 3rd round TKO win at West Region Fight Night at Lithgow last Saturday 18th November. It was Joey’s second MMA fight and his first win! He put in a great preparation and he put in a great performance on the night.

Joey had a strong team in his corner with Philip Kim, Nurbolat Kuandyk and Greg Criticos by his side as Head Coach Anthony Perosh was interstate at an affiliate school grading and seminar.

2017 Canberra BJJ Open Results

No city is too far for some of our BJJ comp team! Four students from Team Perosh Mixed Martial Arts competed at the Canberra BJJ Open on the 11th November. Anthony Lapi won gold and bronze in his weight and open in the masters’s divisions. Axyl Howie, Jake Lapi won gold and Dante Barbanera won silver in the kids divisions. Well done everyone!

2017 Newcastle BJJ Open Results

Our BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) academy from Sydney won 7 gold and 2 bronze medals at the Newcastle BJJ Open on 4th November. We had 1 adult and 6 kids compete.

Frances Bavaro won all 4 of her matches and won double gold in the female blue belt divisions. In the kids divisions Axyl Howie (Double), Dante Barbanera, Jake Lapi and Natasha Iacono won gold and Damian Iacono and Emma Hunt won bronze.

Team Machado also came second overall in the Kids team trophy and 3rd in the Adults team trophy.

Big thank you to coaches Matthew Hunt and Frances Bavaro for being in the corner as Head Coach Anthony Perosh was away holding gradings at an affiliate academy.
