UAEJJ Oceania BJJ Pro Championships Sydney
Great individual and team results from the weekend! We had 4 adults and 6 kids win 1 gold, 4 silver and a bronze medal at the UAEJJ Oceania Pro BJJ Championships in Sydney on 25th February.
Gold went to Axyl Howie, Silver to Frances Bavaro, Rebecca Beuk, Damian Iacono and Amelia Roufas and a Bronze to Anthony Roufas.
Frances Bavaro won a free all expenses paid ticket to the World Pro Championships in April in Abu Dhabi by finishing 2nd overall in the Oceania region for the 2017/18 season!
Our academy Team Perosh came 8th overall in the teams event with only 10 competitors.
Props also go to Tony Pycroft, Ebony Hughes, Guy Vaccaro and Natasha Iacono who had tough matches on the day.

Superfight MMA results in Sydney February 2018
Team Perosh Mixed Martial Arts students went 1 win and 1 loss on 24th February at Superfight MMA in Sydney in tough fights. Nelson Issac Modit Mayan won by TKO 3rd round and Andrew Chapman lost a close decision. They were both very tough fights. Well done guys.
Big thanks to cornermen Philip Kim, Joey Belfiore and Greg Criticos for helping the guys prepare.

BJJ results for February 2018 in Sydney and SE QLD
We had 3 adults and 10 kids win 7 gold, 6 silver and 7 bronze medals at the Grappling Industries on 17th-18th February in Sydney! Congrats to Steve Rudic, Wayne Fotheringham, Damian Iacono (Double), Kobe Harb, Jake Lapi and Dante Barbanera on winning gold, Keegan La Fleur (Double), Jayda La Fleur, Axyl Howie, Kobe Harb and Alexei Fotheringham on winning silver and Natasha Iacono, Jayda La Fleur, Axyl Howie, Alexei Fotheringham, Campbell Lahoud (Bronze) and Dante Barbanera on winning bronze.
The following day Axyl Howie won a gold and a bronze medal at the South East QLD Championships!
Well done to everyone that competed!

Nathan Corbett Muay Thai Seminar February 2018
What a great Muay Thai Kickboxing seminar held by 11 x World Muay Thai Champion Nathan Carnage Corbett on Saturday 10th February at Team Perosh Mixed Martial Arts.
He taught for over 3 hours and didn’t hold back showing his favourite techniques he used to win his World Championships. He taught punches, kicks, knees and of course his speciality elbows! He also included his mindset for doing techniques and for competition. Nathan was a great coach and made sure he gave attention to everyone in the seminar.
After the seminar he took photos with everyone and answered questions and hung out.

Catch up with Carlos Machado BJJ Blackbelt
I met up with long time friend Todd Fox on Saturday 3rd February and had a good Muay Thai Kickboxing padwork session and also BJJ roll with him. He is a BJJ black belt under Carlos Machado. He was in Sydney as Roger Waters‘ head of security for his World tour. Great catch up and great training! And great concert too. Thank you for the tickets!
Australian Girls In Gi BJJ Camp February 2018

We had 2 adults and 4 kids win 4 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze medals at the AUS SUB ONLY comp on Sunday 4th February. Daniel Diaz won gold, Sam Cassaniti double gold, Axyl Howie gold and silver, Damian Iacono 2 silvers and Dante Barbanera silver and bronze. Well done everyone!
