I won two silver at the World BJJ Masters in Las Vegas. I had 2 wins 1 loss in my weight division and 2 wins 1 loss in the open. I did my best. I have no excuses they were just better than me on the day. I will get back on the mat and improve my game to achieve double gold next time.

Well done to Team Perosh student Tony Pycroft on 1 win and 1 loss in the Master 3 Black Belt division. It was his first Worlds. He only lost by one advantage. A big thank you to Tony for being in my corner all 6 matches too!

I want to thank everyone from Team Perosh for the support for me at the World Masters BJJ. You were far away in distance but very close to my heart. And just on the other side of the camera watching! Thank you to Fran for organising the live video at the academy. And thank you to my wife Ana for her undying support.

A great day at Ferragosto

Team Perosh Mixed Martial Arts had a stall at the City of Canada Bay Ferragosto Festival in Five Dock last Sunday. The weather was great, food was great and we were surrounded by a lot of great people. Big thank you to Ana, Katarina, John and David for setting up, running the stall all day and packing the stall at Ferragosto while Anthony is away overseas preparing for the World Masters BJJ Championships. Thank you to everyone who came to visit us on the day.

Team Perosh has done some more painting on their walls. The first line is what we teach, the second line is how we do it and the third line is about not doing it alone! Martial arts is an individual sport but we need to surround ourselves with good and like-minded people to get better and succeed. You are only as strong as the people around you. We are very strong!

Farewell to a coaching staff

Team Perosh said farewell to student and coach Phil Kim as he had his last day of coaching at Team Perosh last week. He has decided to go back to work wearing a different uniform at a bank! Phil will continue his training at Team Perosh so you will still get to see him around all the time. Phil was coaching at Team Perosh almost 3 years. We miss him already and wish him all the best in his new career.

10 New Australian BJJ Champions!

Team Perosh have 10 New Australian BJJ Champions! We had 13 students compete in the Australian Federation of Brasilian Jiu Jitsu National Championships last weekend in Melbourne and 10 of them won gold and are now Australian Champion! They include 5 juniors, 2 teenagers, 2 adults and 1 Master! What an amazing performance!

New Australian Champions are Anthony Perosh (Double), Michael De Marco (Double), Guy Vaccaro, Kosta Panayi, Natasha Iacono, Damian Iacono, Kobe Harb, Ruben Darchinyan, Sam Cassaniti and Dante Barbenera! Silver medals were won by Aryan Singh, Jake Lapi and Axl Howie.

Well done to everyone that competed! I will collect and post more photos soon. Thank you to all the team mates, friends and family they came down to support.

I am very proud of everyone.

10 New Australian BJJ Champions!

8 students win 8 gold at Aus Sub Only BJJ comp

Team Perosh BJJ team had 8 students win 8 gold last weekend at the Aus Sub Only BJJ comp last Sunday.

The adults Michael Ali, Ali Beydoun and Ibrahim all won gold. Michael Ali also won a bronze. The kids all won two medals. Double gold to Aryan Singh, Axyl Howie, Isaac Herodotou and Dante Barbanera. Gold and Silver to Jake Lapi.

Team Perosh came 4^th in Best Academy with only 8 students and RCJ Machado came first in Best Team!

First BJJ seminar and grading at Newcastle Karate

I held a grading and seminar for Kids BJJ and a seminar for Adults BJJ at Team Perosh Mixed Martial Arts affiliate academy Newcastle Karate last Sunday 28th July in Newcastle. It was the first time I went up there for grading and seminar. Big congrats to everyone who graded and thank you to everyone who attend my BJJ seminar. Well done to coaches Marc Matthews, Jesse Landry, Marc Whitehead and Cameron McGregor for getting everyone ready for the grading. I am looking forward to the next one already!

Team Perosh Philosophy that has helped me compete and win

What is your philosophy? Back in 1999 my good friend David Varga sent me this in preparation for my first World BJJ Championship. I won a Bronze medal in the Blue Belt division that year. I have used it as a mantra self-talking to myself since then before every one of my competitions both BJJ and MMA. Since then I have won 5 matches in the UFC and 1 gold and 2 Bronze Medals at the World BJJ Championships. It is now the philosophy of Team Perosh and is up on the wall now for daily inspiration.
