Amazing results at the 2018 IBJJF Pan Pacific BJJ Championships

Team Perosh’s 14 students won 6 gold, 5 silver and 6 Bronze medals at the IBJJF Pan Pacific BJJ Championships in Melbourne last weekend. The Pan Pacs was a 3 day event and is the most prestigious BJJ competition in Australia for the year.

Gold medals were won by Tony Pycroft, Michael De Marco, Julian Tsitsos, Axyl Howie, Aryan Singh and Sam Cassaniti. Silver medals were won by Michael De Marco, Rebecca Beuk, Michael Ali, Natasha Iacono and Kobe Harb. Bronze medals were won by Tony Pycroft, Frances Bavaro (Triple), Damian Iacono and Jayda La Fleur.

Well done to everyone that competed. It was a great weekend!

Team Perosh Kids BJJ team won 4 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal at the ISKA competition on Sunday 21st October. Gold to Damian Iacono, Kobe Harb, Axyl Howie and Natasha Iacono, Silver to Dante Barbanera and Bronze to Damian Iacono. Well done to all the kids who competed!

Grappling industries Number 1 Under 18s Team in the World!

Team Perosh Kids BJJ team competed at the Grappling Industries BJJ comp in Sydney on 13-14th October. Our team competed in gi and nogi divisions and every match was no time limit and had to end in submission!

Our team won 10 gold, 6 silver and 1 bronze medal. Gold to Kosta Panayi, Damian Iacono (Double), Axyl Howie (Double), Aryan Singh (Double), Kobe Harb, Jake Lapi, Dante Barbanera, Silver to Natasha Iacono (Double), Isaac Herodotou (Double), Jake Lapi and Dante Barbanera, Bronze to Kobe Harb.

Extra congrats to Natasha Iacono (11 years old) who had 2 matches lasting 12 and 22 minutes. She won the first one and lost the final to team mate Kobe Harb. You can’t teach heart!

Big congrats to everyone that competed!

Team Perosh’ s BJJ Team won 10 gold, 8 silver and 8 bronze medals at the Events BJJ Oceanic Championship held on 7th October at the Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre in Sydney.

Team Perosh went 1 win 1 loss on Friday night 7th September at Superfight MMA 8 in Sydney. Shane Dehghani won by decision and Joey Belfiore lost by decision. They were both tough matches and they both did their best. Thank you to all the students, family and friends who came to support!

Team Perosh Mixed Martial Arts’ team of 37 competitors won 13 gold, 12 silver and 3 bronze medals at the NSW BJJ Winter Cup in Sydney! Team Perosh is part of the Will-Machado Team and Will-Machado won the 1st place trophy in Adults Nogi and 2nd place trophy for Kids. An amazing effort! Well done to everyone who competed.

Team Perosh has a World BJJ Champion!

I won my first World BJJ Championship! Firstly I won a bronze medal in my weight division and then won gold in the open division in the Master 4 Black Belt category at the 2018 IBJJF World Masters Jiu-Jitsu Championships in LAs Vegas on 24th August.

I got to do a lot of my favourite moves including Lateral drop takedowns, Perosh flips, Stack passing and Kimuras. I am happy with my performance but still have work to do to improve both my strengths and weaknesses.

I want to thank everyone from Team Perosh for the support. You were far away in distance but very close to my heart. And just on the other side of the camera watching!

Big thank you to Fran for organising the live video at the academy, thank you to my BJJ coach Carlos Machado and a big thank you to my fiancee Ana for her undying support.

Team Perosh have 7 new Australian BJJ Champions! Our team of 15 competitors won 9 gold, 10 silver and 4 bronze medals at the Australian BJJ Championships in Melbourne on Saturday 11th August.

New Australian Champions and gold medals were won by Head Coach Anthony Perosh (Double), Frances Bavaro (Double), Michael De Marco, Rebecca Beuk, Julian Tsitsos, Daniel Qaquor and Kobe Harb.

Silver medals were won by Frances Bavaro (Double), Rebecca Beuk, James Zai, Guy Vaccaro, Julian Tsitsos, Axyl Howie, Aryan Singh, Dante Barbanera and Isaac Herodotou.

Bronze medals were won by Michael De Marco, James Zai, Guy Vaccaro and Damian Iacono.

Well done everyone!
