On behalf of Team Perosh Mixed Martial Arts, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who attended our Muay Thai Kickboxing friend and coach Peter Mrsnik funeral yesterday and showed their support. The turnout from current and former students, staff, and friends was a true testament to the incredible impact Peter had on so many lives. Your presence, kind words, and heartfelt memories have meant the world to us during this difficult time. Thank you for honouring his legacy with us.

Remembering our coach Peter Mrsnik

It has been 1 week since our coach and great friend Peter Mrsnik passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.

Peter was more than a student and coach to me. He was a mentor and very good friend. I want to write so much about him, but I am lost for words. I miss him terribly.

Peter taught us to do our best and fight to the end. He did that himself on the mat teaching, in the ring competing, and in life.

We’ll carry his legacy forward. Rest easy Peter. You will always be with us.

If you would like to join us and celebrate Peter Mrsnik’s life with fond memories, his funeral is being held Thursday 3 April 2025 at 10am at Macquarie Park Cemetery and Crematorium, Cn Delhi Rd & Plassey Rd Macquarie Park.

The 10am service is at Magnolia Chapel with the post service gathering at Wallumatta Function Centre, which is within the cemetery grounds.

Team Perosh BJJ Black Belt and OG Andrew Huynh came to visit us and teach a BJJ class. About 18 months ago he moved to Germany to work and came back to Australia for a short visit. How time flies. Seems like yesterday that he left. Thank you for visiting us and teaching. Have a safe trip back and see you when you return.

We had a special guest BJJ coach last night from Dallas, Texas. Coach Brad Scott is a 3rd Degree BJJ Black Belt under Carlos Machado and he is in Sydney for just a few days. He has been Head Coach in Dallas for 10 years under Carlos. I have known Brad for along time and have not seen him since 2018. He taught a great class which everyone loved and finished off with 30 minutes of rolling. Thank you Coach Brad, enjoy the rest of your trip and safe travels home.

Team Perosh Mixed Martial Arts coaches are Government Accredited coaches. Every 4 years we need to renew our credentials. Michael, Giorgio, Hari and myself were there last weekend to renew our credentials along with Team Perosh BJJ affiliate coaches Chris, Antonia and Bill.

6am BJJ classes are being added to the Team Perosh Mixed Martial Arts timetable. From Monday 18th July we are adding BJJ (Gi) classes Monday and Wednesday 6am to 7am. It is open to all levels. Introductory students are most welcome to join. The 6am BJJ classes will be run by BJJ Black Belt Hayden Mckay and BJJ Brown Belt Mason Elias.

Team Perosh OG has moved to the Gold Coast. Steven Micallef has been with Team Perosh since 2002. He is a 2nd Degree BJJ Black Belt, Muay Thai Kickboxing Black T-Shirt and has had 10 pro MMA fights. He is a coach in all disciplines, is a great team mate and great friend. We gave him a 45-minute BJJ shark tank as a going away present! We miss you already. We all wish you the very best.
