Aus SUB only BJJ comp September 2017

Team Perosh competed in the AUS SUB ONLY competition (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) in Sydney on 16th September.

The 5 kids who competed won 5 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals in gi and no gi divisions. Sam Cassaniti and Damian Iacono both won double gold, Anthony Roufas won gold and silver, Amelia Roufas won Silver and bronze and Natasha Iacono won double bronze.

Well done to all the competitors!

MTA Development Day September 2017

Team Perosh competed in the Muay Thai Australia NSW Development Day (Muay Thai Kickboxing) in Sydney on 16th September.

Darren Chee won his match and Daniel Ciancio lost his match by decision. It was both their debut matches and both put in great performances.

BJJ comps in Tokyo and Melbourne

We had 2 students compete in BJJ in Melbourne and Tokyo on 9th September.

Tony Pycroft won a gold and silver medal at the Machado BJJ National Titles in Melbourne in the black belt division. In his weight division he won a silver medal and in the open division he won all 3 matches by submission to win the gold.

Frances Bavaro lost her first match at the Asian BJJ Championships in Tokyo. She lost her first match 2-0 against the eventual gold medal winner. This match could have easily been the final.

Well done to both competitors!

AGIG BJJ comp Sydney September 2017

Congrats to the Team Perosh girls who competed at the Australian Girls in Gi BJJ comp on the 3rd September. Gold medals went to Bridget Mottram, Aston Chee, Amelia Roufas and Jayda La Fleur. Thank you to Ladies BJJ coach Frances Bavaro and everyone who came to support.

One FC MMA in China

Marc Marcellinus put in a great performance at ONE Championship in China on the 2nd September but didn’t get the result. He had a great preparation and had a professional attitude in and out of the ring! He represented Team Perosh the best he can and I am proud to be his coach!

Here are some photos from the event. Was able to meet OneFC CEO Victor Cui, One FC champions Brandon Vera, Ben Askren and Martin Nguyen, UFC veteran Brian Ebersole and also do a bit of sight seeing. One of my favourite photos was of cornerman Peter’s hat we found in a shop. We should have bought it!

BJJ Winter Cup Sydney August 2017

Team Perosh had a team of 16 kids and 4 adults compete at the NSW BJJ Winter Cup in Sydney on 27th August. All the other adult competitors went to watch the McGregor v Mayweather match!

The adults won 3 gold and 2 silver medals. Frances Bavaro, Micah Kirkwood and Mason Elias won Gold and Mason Elias and Aston Chee won Silver.

The kids won 4 gold, 6 silver and 2 bronze medals. Axyl Howie, Harry Herrera, Lewis Massih and Jayda La Fleur won Gold, Keegan La Fleur, Aryan Singh, Amelia Roufas, Natasha Iacono,

Anthony Roufas and Kobe Harb won Silver, and Damian Iacono and Jake Herrera won Bronze.

Another fantastic performance by Team Perosh BJJ.

MTA Development Day August 2017

Team Perosh students Duncan Vincent and Seb Munz lost their Thai Kickboxing matches by decision at the Muaythai Australia Development Day – SRG on Saturday 26th August. Well done on having your first competition matches after only a year of training!

2017 Australian BJJ Championships Results

Team Perosh had 3 students compete at the Australian BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) Championships in Melbourne this weekend. Rebecca Beuk won gold in her weight and bronze in the open division. She is a new Australian BJJ Champion! Michael De Marco and Dominic Lees both lost their first matches. They both lost to the eventual gold medalist and new Australian champions. Big congrats to new Australian BJJ Champion Rebecca Beuk and all of the competitors!

MMA win in Sydney at UFN

Team Perosh fighter Philip Kim continued his undefeated record winning his mma match by unanimous decision last night at Urban Fight Night – MMA promotion. Phil lost the first round but he stayed focussed and dominated the next 2 rounds. He takes his record to 3-0 as a pro. Thank you to all students, family and friends who came to support. We are all proud of you Phil!

Grappling Industries Sydney results August

Team Perosh won 8 gold, 9 silver and 2 bronze medals at the Grappling Industries BJJ competition in Sydney on Sunday 6th August.

In adults divisions Philip Ferraro won gold in gi and James Zai won gold in no gi. Well done to Akshay Thakare and Aston Chee for posting wins on the day.

In kids divisions Axyl Howie (Double), Damian Iacono, Amelia Roufas, Sam Cassaniti, Alexei Fotheringham won gold, Damian Iacono, Amelia Roufas, Jayda La Fleur (Double), Sam Cassaniti, Keegan La Fleur, Natasha Iacono, Anthony Roufas, Kobe Harb won silver and Campbell Lahoud and Keegan La Fleur won bronze.
