Macquarie Uni and Elite Martial Arts both had their gradings last week in Sydney. Macquarie Uni had BJJ and Thai Kickboxing gradings and Elite Martial Arts had BJJ gradings for adults and kids. Once again the students did great. A credit to them putting in the hard work and to my instructors for being great coaches.

I did a tour of Central Queensland teaching in Mackay, Rockhampton and Yeppoon. In Mackay I taught a BJJ seminar and then the next night held a BJJ grading. I then went to Rockhampton and Yeppoon and held BJJ gradings there.
David Garnham runs Mackay MMA, Josh Barwick runs CQMMA in Rockhampton and Nathan O’Connor runs Rhino MMA in Yeppoon. All the students did fantastic.
I also promoted all the instructors promoting David and Josh to Blue Belt 2nd stripe and Nathan O’ Çonnor to Blue Belt.
I participated in an anti-bullying event called BRAVE on 22nd March. Anthony was joined by fellow UFC fighters BJ Penn, Urijah Faber, James Tehuna and Dylan Andrews. The event was to raise awareness and tackle ways to stop bullying. The event was held at the UFC gym in Sydney.
SPMA went 2 wins 2 losses at the Brace for War MMA show at Luna Park in Sydney on 15th March. Gerhard Voigt won by KO 1st round, Steven Micallef won by decision, Luke Standing lost by TKO and Christoff Loff lost by decision. Usual ups and downs in the world of MMA. It was the first round of an 8 main tournament for each division. Gerhard and Steve now move to the semi finals to be held later in the year.
We moved our Liverpool MMA, BJJ and Muay Thai Kickboxing gym to Moorebank. We opened Monday 10th March at our new location. It is a much bigger and better place than our previous one. It has a much better training feel to it. All of the students are very happy with the move and new facilities. On top of that it is easy to get to and there is unlimited free parking. We will be having a Grand Reopening Day on Sunday 13th April.
I am 41 years young and very happy that TRT (Testosterone Replacement Therapy) is now banned in the UFC! In my opinion it is necessary so fighters are on a level playing field with others and no individual has an unfair advantage.
I have always kept an active and healthy lifestyle. If you do this you don’t need TRT. I just had my Testosterone levels checked and I am within normal healthy limits.
I run and own two MMA and BJJ gyms in Sydney teaching 600 students. I lead by example and hope to be an inspiration not only to my students but also other fighters, MMA fans and everyone else.
I am number 3 on the list of active UFC fighters for most submission in the UFC light heavyweight division with 9 submissions.
I am 6th on the list of active UFC fighters with 100% finishing rates.
