I had the honour and privilege of being best man at the wedding of my brother John Perosh and his beautiful wife Rawaa Li. They got married on the 15th February 2014 at Clovelly Beach in Sydney, Australia. John is my younger brother and is an athlete himself playing soccer professionally for 15 years in Australia and representing Australia in the under 19s. He is my rock! I wish them both a lifetime of love and happiness.
The UFC Fit (Full body Intensity Training) trainer course was run at UFC Gym Sydney on 29th January by Rob “Razor” McCullough. Rob is a former WEC World Lightweight Champion. There were about 20 instructors including myself. We were shown and then practiced all the techniques and then practiced running a class. It is a great workout for the non fighter and a good introduction to MMA fitness training.
There is no link with MMA to coward punching and the violence on Sydney streets. That is my opinion and the opinion of the majority of people. Unfortunately there is a very small minority out there who cause trouble on the streets of Sydney. Here is an interview I recently did with Adam Ireland of MMA Kanvas talking about MMA, coward punchers and violence on Sydney streets.
I hope everyone had a Happy New Year. Time to get back to training. My two gyms opened up for 2014 on Monday 6th January with the full timetable. It was great to be back and see so many students on day one.

I lost my match by decision at UFC Fight Night 33 in Brisbane. Congratulations to my opponent Ryan Bader. He was my toughest opponent to date and he proved it on the night. It is now time for me to heal up, rest and then go back to training. Back to the drawing board as they say.I just have a few stitches and bruising so it will be all healed up in 10 days.

Current UFC Heavyweight Todd Duffee held an MMA seminar at SPMA Concord in Sydney on Sunday 17th November. He showed takedowns, ground and pound and submissions from the top for two and a half hours. Todd trains at AKA (American Kickboxing Academy) in San Jose, California. AKA is also home of current UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Valesquez.
