Ross Pearson Seminar

UFC Lightweight fighter Ross Pearson held a Boxing and Kickboxing seminar at my MMA gym in Sydney on Saturday 20^th December. About 35 students attended the seminar. Ross specialises in striking and showed many striking techniques, combinations and strategy to the students for over 3 hours. He stayed afterwards to take photos and talk with everyone. All the students said they enjoyed the seminar and would start practicing what they learnt. You can check out some photos below.

Affiliate gradings

I ran BJJ gradings and BJJ and MMA seminars at my affiliate schools in Kemps Creek, Minchinbury, Macquarie University, Girraween, Brisbane, Mackay, Yeppoon and Rockhamptom. I also awarded a BJJ purple belt to Mackay MMA head of school David Garnham. All the students at all the affiliate schools did fantastic. That is a great credit to the students for putting in the hard work and also the instructors for teaching them the techniques of my syllabus.

It’s grading time and all the students at my affiliate BJJ and MMA gyms in Sydney, Mackay and Rockhamptom smashed it. The Griffith grading will be in August. The Sydney BJJ gyms are Macquarie University, Elite Martial Arts and Martial Arts research Academy. In Mackay is Mackay MMA and in Rockhampton is Rhino MMA. Jean Jacques Machado held a BJJ seminar at the SPMA Concord gym in Sydney on 27^th June for 25 students. Jean Jacques Machado is a 7^th degree Red and Black Belt in BJJ and is the brother of my coach Carlos Machado. Jean Jacques Machado is a former World BJJ champion in gi and no gi. He is now a coach and has his own BJJ gyms in California.

Griffith and Wagga Wagga BJJ Seminars

I went to Griffith and Wagga Wagga on 5th and 6th of April teaching a BJJ seminar at each place. In Griffith I taught at RMA & Total Fitness owned by Frank Cirillo. RMA is now a new affiliate gym and will be implementing my BJJ syllabus and grading program. Welcome! And in Wagga Wagga I taught a BJJ seminar at Nexus BJJ. I want to thank Paul Dallow from TORA Athletic for organising both seminars for me.

Todd Duffee MMA Seminar at SPMA Sydney

Current UFC Heavyweight Todd Duffee held an MMA seminar at SPMA Concord in Sydney on Sunday 17th November. He showed takedowns, ground and pound and submissions from the top for two and a half hours. Todd trains at AKA (American Kickboxing Academy) in San Jose, California. AKA is also home of current UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Valesquez.
