Gradings week for BJJ & Thai Kickboxing

Team Perosh Mixed Martial Arts had their BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) and Muay Thai Kickboxing gradings for adults and kids last week. About 300 students participated in the gradings with most of them grading to the next level. Group photos of the 8 classes that graded and 2 photos of the high ranks that graded are below.

Adults BJJ

No less than 22 new belts were awarded and over 50 stripes awarded!

  • New Black Belt 3rd Degree: Dean Vella, Victor Fox
  • New Black Belt 2nd Degree: Steven Micallef
  • New Black Belt 1st Degree: Tony Pycroft
  • New Black Belt: Jesse Landry
  • New Brown Belt: Frances Bavaro
  • New Purple Belts: Mason Elias, Angus Blackwell, Joseph Frangos Young, Rami Younes, Ante Jaksic and Nathan Maitre.
  • New Blue Belts: Jane Bransgrove, Steve Kim, Joey Belfiore, Nelson Mayan, Colin Liang, Darren Chism, Natasha Skorvc, Eric Du, Olivia Hu, Ameer Karas, Matthew Koziollek, Elisha Duxbury, Danie Cocks and James Gill.

They went through a brutal 15-20 rounds of 3-minute shark tank. None of them gave up with all showing great heart.

During presentation Jesse set a new Team Perosh record with longest BJJ Black Belt acceptance speech! We loved every minute of it!

Adults Muay Thai Kickboxing

New Black T-shirt was awarded to Peter Mrsnik. After a fitness session, technique and padwork he did 6 x 3 rounds sparring and 4 x 3 rounds shark tank with a new opponent every minute. The last round of shark tank had 3 Black T-Shirts against Peter 1 v 1 the first minute, 2 v 1 the second minute and 3 v 1 the third minute. Peter didn’t give up throwing a lot of spinning techniques to survive. The 3 Black T-shirts even jokingly turned on each other the last minute to help Peter out. An amazing performance by Peter and all at the age of 53.

New Purple T-shirts were awarded to Nelson Mayan and Calvin Siu and new Blue T-shirt to Seb Munoz.

Kids BJJ

Three classes and 75 Kids BJJ students graded. Team Perosh now have 20 Yellow-White Belt and above students training which symbolises a minimum 3.5 years of training. What a team!

Kids Muay Thai Kickboxing

About 20 kids graded from ages 10 to 15. Our Kids Thai Kickboxing class is growing bigger and better from grading to grading.

There was a great energy during all the gradings on both days with everyone putting in 100% and also supporting one another. Congratulations to everyone that graded!
