NSW BJJ State Championships Sydney June 2018

Team Perosh had a team of 28 students win 9 gold (and new State Champions), 10 silver and 3 bronze medals at the NSW BJJ State Championships in Sydney on 30th June-1st July.

New State champions and gold medals went to Michael De Marco, Frances Bavaro, Rebecca Beuk, Nathan Maitre, Julian Tsitsos, Damian Iacono, Axyl Howie, Alexei Fotheringham and Lewis Massih.

Silver medals were won by Angus Blackwell, Jeremiah Diestro, Isaac Soldatos, Derek Nguyen, Natasha Iacono, Isaac Herodotou, Kobe Harb, Kale Lapi, Anthony Roufas and Daniel Ququor.

Bronze medals were won by Hayden McKay, Wayne Fotheringham and Derek Nguyen.

BJJ and Muay Thai Kickboxing Grading results June 2018

Team Perosh Mixed Martial Arts had 200 students grade in BJJ and Muay Thai Kickboxing on 20th-21st June in Sydney. Congratulations to all the adults and kids that graded. Extra special congratulations to new BJJ Blue Belt Stefania Boitano, new Muay Thai Purple T-shirts Nathan Maitre and Stefania Boitano and new Muay Thai Blue T-shirt Khalil Griege.

Team Perosh had a great team of 42 students compete at the NSW Machado BJJ State Championships on 17th June. The adults won 12 gold, 7 silver and 4 bronze medals and the kids won 15 gold, 11 silver and 8 bronze medals. Click here for the all of the results and photos of the event.

Congratulations to everyone who graded at Team Perosh affiliate BJJ academies RMA in Griffith 30th May, Mackay MMA in Mackay 5th June and AMA in Brisbane 9th June.

Congrats to everyone at Team Perosh affiliate BJJ academy RMA & Total Fitness who graded on Wednesday night 30th May! We had a number of white belts grade and the blue belts graded to 4th stripe now only one away from Purple Belt. Well done to the coaches Frank Cirillo, Peter Moraschi and Elizabeth Heffer on getting the students ready.

It was a huge grading and everyone nailed it on 5th June in Mackay. Extra special congratulations to new BJJ Brown Belt Todd Laister. Well done to Coach David Garnham on getting everyone ready. And congrats to David on receiving his 3rd stripe on his BJJ Brown Belt.

I taught a BJJ seminar and attended a BJJ grading at Team Perosh affiliate academy Advance Martial Arts in Brisbane 8th and 9th June. Thank you to everyone who attended the seminar on Friday and congrats to everyone who graded on Saturday. Well done to head coach Matt Cooper on getting everyone ready for the grading.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone’s progress the next time.

Team Perosh student Guy Vaccaro competed at the World BJJ Championships the first weekend of June in Long Beach, California. He didn’t get the result he wanted but he did his absolute best. Guy is staying in the USA for a few weeks with his family for a well earned rest. See you when you get back.

Team Perosh has 8 new ADCC Australian BJJ Champions!

Team Perosh dominated on the weekend at the ACT BJJ Championships and ADCC Australian Championships! We have 8 new Australian BJJ Champions!

On Saturday we had 3 kids all win gold at the ACT BJJ Championships. Axyl Howie, Kobe Harb and Dante Barbenera all won gold.

Then on Sunday we had 8 kids and 11 adults win 8 gold, 6 silver and 2 bronze medals at the ADCC Australian Championships! Nobby Kuandyk, Michael De Marco, Rebecca Beuk, Piotr Rosinski, Jerryn Biles, Zachary Ogden, Damian Iacono and Aryan Singh won gold and are new Australian Champions! Joshua Primmer, Tajana Wilkie, Jaylan Foster, Natashao Iacono, Sam Cassaniti and Jake Lapi won silver. Daniel Diaz and Isaac Herodotou won bronze.

To top it off Team Perosh won Best Academy and was part of Best Team overall!

Kids BJJ results

Team Perosh had 11 kids win 9 gold, 6 silver and 2 bronze medals at two BJJ comps on Sunday 20th May.

At the Machado NSW BJJ kids comp gold medals were won by Aryan Singh (Double), Jake Lapi (Double), Dante Barbanera (Double), Sam Cassaniti and Isaac Herodotou. Silver medals were won by Axyl Howie (Double), Emma Hunt (Double), Sam Cassaniti and Harry Herrera. Bronze medals were won by Isaac Herodotou and James Hunt. Thank you to Coach Matthew Hunt for coaching all of the kids.

At the ISKA Sydney City Open Natasha Iacono won a gold medal.

Carlos Machado BJJ Seminar

Carlos Machado taught a BJJ seminar to adults and kids at Team Perosh Mixed Martial Arts on 12th May. Carlos is an 8th degree BJJ Coral belt, the head of RCJ Machado and the BJJ coach of Anthony Perosh.

He first taught 70 adults for two and a half hours and then taught 25 kids for about an hour and a half. Carlos stayed after each seminar and took photos and chatted with all the students.

Team Perosh had 16 kids and 8 adults compete at the Autumn BJJ Cup on Sunday 6th May winning 7 gold, 11 silver and 6 bronze medals!

Gold medals to Stef Boitano, John Kim (Triple), Sam Cassaniti, Jake Lapi and Harry Herrera. Silver medals to Phil Ferraro, Guy Vaccaro, Stef Boitana, John Kim, Aryan Singh, Dante Barbanera, Isaac Herodotou, Emma Hunt, Jayda La Fleur, Axyl Howie, Anthony Roufas. Bronze medals to Wayne Fotheringham, Joshua Graffi, Bridget Massih and Lewis Massih.
